- Talented Derry Artists Create Paintings in Worship
Two paintings were created by Derry Church artists at the Engage: Celtic worship experience on May 12. Jill Peckelun painted the congregation (left) while Liz Gawron (right) interpreted what she saw and heard in worship by painting a door that opens to show an image of peace. - Pentecost Offering
The Pentecost Offering is traditionally received on the day of Pentecost (May 20). It provides a direct way to meet the needs of children at risk, youth, and young adults. In addition, 50% of this offering can be kept by individual congregations for use in their own communities. Derry has designated Joshua Group in Harrisburg to receive a portion of the 2018 Pentecost Offering receipts. The remaining 50% will be used for leadership development opportunities for Presbyterian youth and young adults and support for children-at-risk programs at the national level. Since 1998, Presbyterians of all ages have raised more than $8 million for these ministries that benefit younger members of God’s family.

- New Pictorial Directories Coming Soon!
2012 was the last time Derry Church produced a pictorial directory. Now we need your help to create a new one! Our new church management software gives us the ability to create our own directories. We're going to try it this way instead of working with a company that comes in and takes professional photos by appointment.
You can help by submitting your favorite family photo to Sue George. If you can't email the photo, bring it in to the church office and we'll scan it and return it to you. If you've joined in the past year, we'll use your new member photo (or you can submit another photo if you prefer). Square-shaped photos (like Instagram) work best.
If you don't have a photo, Sue will be available to take your picture on Sunday mornings. You can also stop by during the week, Monday-Thursday. Please call ahead or email so she knows to expect you.
The plan is to collect photos now through August and send out the directory as a PDF in September, then release new editions on a regular basis through the year. Sandy Miceli will need your preferred email address as the directory will be sent out using the same church management software that creates the directory. If we don't have your correct email address, you won't receive a directory. A limited number of print copies will be available in the church office.
The new-style pictorial directory will include names and pictures only, so hold onto your paper directory that has member contact information.
